October, 2002 – Atlantech® Companies Adds (DAF) Dissolved Air Flotation to its Wastewater Treatment Product Line

Atlantech® Companies has formed a strategic alliance with Piedmont Technologies (P-TEC) Inc., a leader in (DAF) Dissolved Air Flotation technology. P-TEC’s personnel have combined experience of over 50 years in the wastewater and DAF business. P-TEC has been directly involved in the design, engineering, sales, and installation of more than 250 DAF applications worldwide in a wide range of industries.

DAF is a secondary treatment technology that is very effective at reducing BOD, TSS and FOG in a variety of process wastewater applications.

Addition of DAF technology is complimentary to Atlantech’s existing primary treatment technologies and has expanded Atlantech’s capability to offer complete, turn-key solutions to the wastewater industry.

Atlantech looks forward to offering this new product line to its customers in the processing industry with the confidence that its alliance with P-TEC will allow Atlantech to provide “best of” DAF technology along with top quality service and support.

Currently, Atlantech is conducting phase one (system design) of a “green field”, turn-key process wastewater treatment facility for Stolt Sea Farm in St. George, New Brunswick. This facility will include, primary treatment, equalization and DAF technology. Phase one of this project was preceded by extensive in-field testing to establish the efficiency of DAF to reduce BOD, TSS and FOG specific to salmon process wastewater and to ensure that all discharge criteria will fall below set compliance levels. In-field pilot testing and system design are now complete and Phase two (construction, supply and installation) is scheduled to begin during June, 2003.
